As your Chart of Accounts grows, finding specific records can get time-consuming. Use the built-in search and filter tools to locate accounts by name, type, or subtype, making navigation and review faster and more efficient.

1. Using the Search Bar

At the top of your Chart of Accounts Table, you'll find the Search Bar. This lets you quickly locate specific accounts based on key details like:

  • Account name (e.g., "Office Furniture")

  • Description (e.g., "Monthly staff salaries")

  • Account type or code

Tip: You can type the keywords, and Adam will return all matching results instantly.

2. Filtering by Account Type

To focus on specific categories of accounts, use the All Types Filter. This dropdown allows you to view only the accounts that fall under a particular high-level classification, such as:

  • Asset – Includes cash, inventory, and fixed assets.

  • Liability – Includes loans, payables, and taxes owed.

  • Equity – Includes retained earnings and capital contributions.

  • Revenue – Includes sales and income-generating accounts.

  • Expense – Includes operational and administrative costs.

How to use:

  1. Click on the All Types dropdown.

  2. Select the category you want to view.

  3. The table will instantly refresh to show only matching account types.

3. Filtering by Subtype

For more detailed filtering, use the All Subtypes Filter. This allows you to narrow down results even further by specific sub-classifications, such as:

  • Bank

  • Cash

  • Accounts Receivable

  • Salaries & Wages

  • Utilities

  • Loans Payable

This is especially useful when you're managing large datasets or need to focus on a specific area of your finances.

Example: Want to check all your bank-related accounts? Just filter by the "Bank" subtype.
