With Adam, you can connect your U.S bank account to import and auto-categorize your transactions. Adam helps you sync your bank transactions in real-time and automatically categorize them. This guide walks you through how to set it up and what happens after you sync.
Step-by-Step Guide to Connect Your U.S Bank
Access the Bank Sync Page
From the Ask Adam dashboard, scroll to Other Channels and select Bank Sync.
ORGo to the Data Source section on the sidebar menu, select Bank Sync.
Connect your U.S. Bank Account
The bank sync works only for U.S. bank accounts.
You also have to be on the Premium Plan to access this feature.
Once you meet these two requirements, click on the Connect button.
You will be directed to Stripe for the bank connection.
Agree to the terms and proceed to log in with your bank credentials.
Select the bank account(s) you want to link.
Once completed, you’ll be redirected back to Adam, and your account will appear under connected banks in your Chart of Accounts Table.
What happens next
Once your bank is connected:
Past Transactions: Adam pulls up to 12 months of historical data.
Daily Syncing: New transactions will be synced once per day.
Auto Categorization: Adam will categorize transactions based on AI suggestions and the training you’ve provided.
Chart of Accounts: Your bank account is automatically added to your Chart of Accounts.
Reviewing your synced transactions
Your synced data appears in the Bank Transactions Table, where you can:
Review the original transaction details.
See Adam’s category suggestion.
Adjust categories if needed.
⚠️ Important Notes
Pulling large amounts of data may consume AI credits, especially if your account is high volume.
Syncing is available once per day, typically in the evening.
